We had some strong winds over Christmas which blow over a silver birch in Birmingham. We we contacted to remove the tree which had been resting on the house for a few days. We were able to get straight out to them, and with the help of a crane, removed the tree safely without causing any further damage.
As there was no safe anchor point to work from in the tree we used the hook of the crane. Suspended by a rope and harness we slowly removed the smaller branches using a chainsaw. We removed the branches until the stem was small enough to swing past the boom of the crane. We then attached the tree to the crane using the chains and, once the climber was down on the ground, we made a cut at the bottom of the tree. The tree was then lifted off the roof and lowered to the floor to be cut up and removed from site.
